Artist Statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist and an environmentalist. My work reflects a deep concern for the coexistence of humans, animals, and nature. I adopt a psychogeographic approach, walking in the scrublands and along waterfronts to explore how emotions are entangled with the natural world. My hometown in Hong Kong is a stopover site for waterbirds along the East Asian and Australian Flyway. Because of this, water metaphors and wet birds often appear in my works to represent my values of freedom and resilience. I also engage in both self-portraiture and automatic drawing as forms of self-reflection on these diasporic experiences and change of identity.
